National Touring Acts
Join Laura as she tours the nation, usually as a duo with Dave Gallagher, if not the entire band. She can coo like Joni and growl like Janis.
Laura Joy is an NPR featured, nationally touring artist with an eclectic song list of award-winning original music and popular covers. Her soothing voice has been known to quell dark, angry bars full of ornery old Irishmen. With comparisons that range from Jewel to Natalie Merchant, Laura’s percussive finger picking and buoyant vocals have graced audiences from as far as the Sun Belt to the streets of Manhattan.
Currently, she averages around 100 shows per year nationwide. She has opened for and shared stages with Greg Brown, Robbie Fulks, Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts, and Restless Heart.
Formed at Fullerton College in 1987, The Alley Cats have made it to the forefront of a cappella music with their renditions of timeless Doo-Wop classics and their zany improvisational comedy. Through the years, the Cats have performed with notable celebrities such as Jay Leno, Rascal Flatts, and The Beach Boys. Whether they are entertaining the President at The White House, or “edutaining” students in their nationally recognized Arts Education program, The Alley Cats bring the same level of energy to every show. Having entertained audiences for over 20 years, it’s no wonder they have earned the title of “America’s Premier Doo-Wop Group.”
Cindy Miller – “I’ve Got The Music In Me”
“I went to the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre and I saw one of the best shows in my life….Cindy Miller…it blew my mind. I mean … we’re going to have her on …we’ve got to have her on, she just blew me away … she’s musical comedy, I mean she wrote this show and she performed the show …. She does some standards and she does impersonations, not only singing but talking. Streisand, Cher, Madonna, Tina Turner. She does a Dolly Parton that will blow you away and a Celine Dion that will kill ’ya …it’s one of the most energetic and funniest shows I’ve ever seen in my life. She’s a great singer but she’s as funny as hell.”
